LORAC Starry Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio - Rock Star : Eye Look
Forgive the low quality of pictures. We've had no sunlight and it snowed today again. The lighting indoors coupled with the flash makes everything look pale in pictures. So, just add a hint of brightness and warmth to all the pics and you'll see how pretty everything actually is ! I almost didnot want to post it but I know its gonna be long time before daylight shows up ...
This is a look I did today using just this shadow and the Urban Decay Glitter Eyeliner in Silver.

The Body Shop Holiday Makeup Collection 2009 - Eye & Cheek Palette : Review & Swatches
Hope you had a good night's sleep.
That's exactly what I hope. Because I did not until 2 AM. My neighbors lost their clock and forgot the concept of Inside Voices - hence the above. But we wont talk about that....
Lets talk about happy things like this little makeup palette that comes packaged like a jewelry box. I know this because my mom has a set of pearls that came in a similar casing. Anything that comes in a jewelery like casing makes the best gift ! It has four eyeshadow ( frosty lilac , frosty purple, gray, shimmery black) and a pretty rose blush. The palette was for $26 but is now listed for $13 on The Body Shop site !!! At $13 its a great bargain ! You'll see why ....
The Eye & Cheek Palette is cute and is about the size of your hand. A great one to pick up and drop into your purse for a touch up later. However given the shades, I don't see one dropping it into my purse unless....
Unless you have a dinner date .
A dinner date with a tall man.
A dinner date with a tall handsome man.
A dinner date with a tall handsome man with dimples.
A dinner date with a tall handsome man with dimples and you know you will be late at work and will not have time to get back home and dress up. Then. Then I see you dropping this kit into your purse along with a nude lip gloss.
Tall handsome man with dimples loves smokey eyes and nude lips ! Its a scientifically proven fact.
Good move dropping the kit into your purse ! And, Good luck on the hot date !

Avon U By Ungaro Color Collection : Review & Swatches
Happy December ! Gosh I missed y'all ! I missed writing. Just a whole lotta missing happening .
As promised its Avon's turn today . Every now and then I try something from Avon and I'm reminded about how terribly underrated the brand is. When I was younger, to me Avon was not cool. But not anymore, I think they make some great stuff in makeup and skincare !
The U by Ungaro for Avon Lipstick in Glam is a Fuchsia pink - absolutely fabulous texture and finish. I have a lot of mauve tones in my lips naturally so the lipstick comes off looking a lot more fuchsia on me. But if you have pale lips or lips with more red in it , this one will turn into a pretty pink. Add a winter hat and you'll be cutest little thing on your street !
The Face Shimmer Powder is actually blush. A hot pink center surrounded by a nude mauve powder. Check that color out in action ! Personally I am feeling this on tanned/Medium / medium Dark / Dark skin tones. It might be a bit much on lighter skin tones unless you have a feather light hand. Blending the two shades makes for a very easy blush color.
I'd do anything for that sight...Gosh, the wranglers...
The Eyeshadow in Glam is a golden champagne color that fits perfectly into the collection ( I watch Project Runway, okay.). Except the texture is terribly crumbly and glittery. I used it as an all over color on my eyes three days back and I can still see huge chunks of glitter at random spots on my face.
Not a good look even in a glitter friendly state like TX.
In Other News...
Thank you for sharing all your songs ! I'm gonna share mine now. Its a ridiculously cute song . The singer of this song tweeted about her new song and that's how I caught on to it !
Gist of the song : Nerd boy likes the popular girl at school. He sings about his love but reminds himself that they are too different so love is impossible.
Bit cheesy. But hey Cheese is good and yummy !

Picture Tutorial On Olive Green Eye Look With Julie Hewett Eye Shadows
These are the powder shadows I used for the look. All are by Julie Hewett.
Brushes
I have listed the brushes I used, as well. Some brushes I used were from Smashbox. A couple were from an unknown brand I picked up at Big Lots long long ago. But I have substituted with a similar brush from Smashbox simply because it makes it easier for a reader to stop at a brand and get a look at all the brushes instead of jumping from brand to brand.
Step By Step Tutorial
1. Start off with clean moisturized eyes. apply concealer all over eyes and under the eyes hiding dark circles.
Product : Cover Fx Conceal Fx - Light
Brush : Smashbox Concealer Brush #12
2. Set the concealer with translucent powder.
Product : Cover Fx Translucent Powder - Light
Brush : Smashbox Crease Brush #10 ( I used the nameless brand one)
3. Pat a thin layer of cream / gel eyeliner or shadow in black all over the lid. Skip the inner corner.
Product : Estee Lauder Gel Eyeliner - Black
Brush : Smashbox Concealer Brush #4 ( I used the nameless brand one)
4. Using dabbing motions apply a thick layer of olive green shadow over the gel eyeliner.
Product : Julie Hewett Eyeliner - Olive
Brush : Smashbox Blending Brush #3 ( I used Prescriptives Eyeshadow Brush)
5. Blend a pistachio green color with the olive green, moving upwards and outwards along the crease.
Product : Julie Hewett Eyeshadow - Zen
Brush : Smashbox Crease Brush #10
6. Apply highlighter under the brow, along the brow bone.
Product : Julie Hewett Eye Shadow : Silk
Brush : Smashbox Blending Brush # 3 ( I used the nameless brand one)
7. Apply a green / black, gel / creme eyeliner along upper liner and lower lash line
Product : Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner - Forest Shimmer Ink
Brush : Smashbox Eyeliner Brush #8
8. Line the waterline with a dark green or black eyeliner pencil.
Product : Rimmel London Spark It Up Gleaming Eye Darkening Liner - Peridot
9. Do your brows, apply mascara.
Product : Julie Hewett Eye Shadow : Vita
Brush : Smashbox Angle Brow Brush #12
Product : Julie Hewett Rose Mascara
That's it ! In less that ten steps we have a pretty pretty olive green eye look !
Finished Look :
Custom Palettes :
Over at Julie Hewet they have a new system where you can make your own custom palettes by choosing shades you love to fit into the palette of your choice. Its just like build your own burger except its not edible.
Very few things that are not edible interest me. So, listen up !
The palettes are the gorgeous black and white magnetic ones. So much cuter than the regular all black palettes that everybody else makes.
There are three kinds of palettes available : single pan, 2 pan and four pan. In my two pan palette I plan on adding Silk - a bone colored shade with a tiny hint of gold shimmer. Its the best highlighter shade ever and Vita - a brown taupe shade that makes my eyebrows look happy ! I can then drop it into my purse and have gorgeous highlighted brows all day long !
Ooooofffffffff...its over ! Its all over ! You can go ahead lose that patience now !
I just did.

Julie Hewett Noelle Palette : Review. The Pretty Four & A Discount !
The latest from them is the Noella Palette.
I bet you were !
I keep telling myself that.
The Noella palette has four beautiful colors in it - three satin finish eyeshadow and one cheekie for cheeks & lips. The shadows are a joy to work with. They are paraben and talc free hence no binders. This is great for blending and layering but also makes them susceptible to breakage. Just something to remember before you throw the palette into your makeup drawer.
mica: a silver tinsel shadow, versatile for both day and night allure.
pola: a delicate snow white shadow to sweep over entire lid and highlight under brow.
java: a seductive, slightly shimmery brown used to create a smokey look that everyone will notice.
rosie: a sheer vibrant raspberry for the cheeks that doubles as a luscious lip color.
For this look I used Java all over my lid and Pola as my highlight under my brows.
Brown has never been my color but occasionally I find a rich beautiful brown like this one that just sweeps me off my feet. Pola is a great highlight shade. But I have another awesome highlight shade from JH that I will share soon. That one is a must have. Not to take the spotlight away from Pola. She is pretty too.
Rosie , rosie , rosie. Like they say it is a gorgeous flush of color. I love it a lot lot more than my POP Apples Of The Cheeks Rouge #1 . Rosie is a lot more sheerer than many other cheekies; making it a perfect pick for naturally flushed cheeks and just a hint of red stain for my lips.
I lined my waterline with Omit Pencil by Julie Hewett. I could have used a brown or black eyeliner but I just felt like going with the nude waterline. My brows are strong ( loving my Smashbox eyebrow brush #12).
Though I do a lot of looks with multiple shades - this is more in my comfort zone. It is dressy but has just two shades. Sometime less is more.
I couldn't sound anymore cleché, could I ? But these quotes are a cleché for a reason. They are true !

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty 5 Minute Face Kit : Review
Well, technically not yet but we're almost there ! I know we're almost there because it smells like cinnamon and other holiday spices around my apartment building. I get out and I'm like...
Oh No You Didn't. Oh No. They bust out their Holiday home fragrances, man !
I don't have the holiday fragrances yet. So, I am busting out the value kits. Today its Sally Hansen Natural Beauty 's turn with their 5 Minute Face Kit. I have loved this brand since it came into being a couple of years back. Almost everything has worked well for me and the price is almost always right.
This 5 Minute Face Kit has gotten me more excited than the bulls at the Rodeo !
I said bulls not cowboys. Nothing is more exciting than cowboys. *Drools* TX cowboys !
The Kit has 5 items. A minute per item. And they come in three shades - Light, Medium and Dark. Each kit has products that should help enhance features of skin tone in that range.
Luminizing Face Primer
Concealer
Blush
Eyeshadow Trio
Lip gloss
Concealer , I'll write a lot about it soon.
The eyeshadow I have talked about them here. Almost a year back ! But they are still making them good !
The lip gloss in Sparkling Champagne is perfect for light - medium skin tones. A beautiful flesh toned shade with a hint of shimmer. Some of my other favorite shades are here with swatches .The blush ( Cherub) is a peachy pink "I-am-an-angel. Don't believe me ? Look at my cheeks " kinda color. That is the exact description that would be on he box had I made it.
But wait. So you think they put a items in a kit call it 5 minute kit and I'll get excited over it ?
No. Absolutely not. Check out the receipt below to know the most exciting part about the kit and the deal I've set up for y'all !
Its worth $45 but the CVS guy knows you read AIMB and he'll give it to you for $12.99. Just for you ! No Jokes. All true story.
Okay I had nothing to do with the deal. But if you give it a try, it'll still $12.99. AIMB reader or not !

Hard Candy : Good Bargains You Say ? Lets See...
One is the Mouthing Off Sheer Lip Shine and the other The Radiant Shadow Stick.
Mouthing Off Sheer Lip Shine - Sweet Treat ($6)
I don't like lip gloss. Given that, I am very very picky about lip glosses. If its sticky, its going to be heavy & I get a headache from all of the weight. Hence I don't like lip gloss
Unless.
Unless its a non sticky / light formula. This one is and it costs only $6 ! Bargain beast or what !! The shade I tried Sweet Treat is a brown nude with a hint of coppery shimmer. Nothing gritty, nothing I could feel on my lips. It is very versatile shade. I love layering it over red lipsticks / nude lipsticks. An absolute treat to wear !
On my lips it looks like a slightly coppery version of Stila Kitten.
Hard Candy Shadow Stick - Star ($6)
The shadow stick was more of a surprise to me. I was surprised I like it. And the only reason I did was the light gel like formula. Its a gel based shadow that you can directly apply on your eyes or use your finger / brush. Its best used as a layer under powder shadows for longer wear and deeper color.
I don't see myself using it on its own because it would just crease and vanish in a couple of hours. Its true purpose in life is to be down under below the powder shadow. Trust me.
I hate how most cream/ gel eyeshadow / liners are so darn expensive. Most often they are used for layering too and to pay $22 for it feels very heavy. This would be a great alternative for such times ! The shade I tried was Star - a deep blue.
Have you tried any Hard Candy items ? Anything you're loving ?

LORAC Secrets Of A Hollywood Starlet Kit : Review & Swatches; I'm Addicted And I Dont Want To Be Saved
I've been using it every single day, every time I go out , every time I ran to the grocers and every time I went out for dinner. Just plain - All The Time !
The Secrets Of A Hollywood Starlet Kit from LORAC has everything I need for a pretty face of makeup and almost every product is drop dead gorgeous. What the almost means - you'll know soon.
The Kit is essentially a purple faux croc leather bag / clutch with
Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Starlet ($24)
Baked Matte Satin Blush in Velvet Rope ($24)
Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in Glam ($22)
Lotsa Lash fiber mascara in Black ($19.50)
LORAC’s exclusive shadow/liner brush (priceless, as in the price isn't stated on the site)
Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Starlet
This is to eye makeup what butter is to Paula Dean.
The Starlet Trio consists of a champagne pink shade, a purple taupe and a deep purple. Each one can be used as an all over color or a highlight, all over shade and eyeliner respectively.
All I did for this look is to take the darkest shade, load it once on the shadow brush that came with the kit and gently pat if all over my eye. Next I gently added just a hint of the purple taupe shade in the center of the lid. That's it. All that color came from just one swipe. They are so darn pigmented ! And the texture is buttery too. Just glides on your skin leaving a sexy satin finish. The trio is available on its on too for $24 each. Like I said before these are some THE BEST shadows I have ever used !
Baked Matte Satin Blush in Velvet Rope
O my geez Louise wont you look at that !
Its a matte satin ! A matte with a satin finish. Not a boring powdery dry matte one !
Velvet Rope is a one of a kind, universally flattering rose pink. The intensity can be easily increased with just a couple of layers for a flawless pink cheek look !
And if you saw my love, you'll love him too. And I love him. A love like ours could never die..
( Adapted from Beatles - And I Love her)
Yup, still talking about the blush.
I think.
Couture Shine Liquid Lipstick in Glam
Liquid lipstick in a glossy formula. Not sticky, not heavy, great when layered over a nude lipstick and super glamorous on its own. It smells like Milo ( the drink you drank when you were younger, remember ?) Its not bad at all, but just thought I throw it in .
On its own its a delicate shimmery nude - rose. The big fat gloss comes with a tiny brush. Girls like my sister who are blessed with ultra cute thin lips will love this one !
Lotsa Lash fiber mascara in Black
This is the only product that I may not miss if its gone or lost or thrown away by mistake.
Drumroll Please
Unlike most things that are bright and beautiful in the makeup world, the most exciting thing about this kit is its cost. The nifty little thing costs only $ 42 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The real value though is over $145 !
Its not often that I get this excited about something. But there is something about finding a deal this good that gives me this intense joy. It makes me wanna build a bonfire and dance around it.
Now you go check this out while I get started on the bon fire ! If you get it lemme know. I'll have you flown over and we can all dance around the fire.
Just kidding
I think.
